Child custody disputes can be emotionally and financially difficult, especially for families with limited resources. Beehive Family Services offers child custody evaluations specifically designed to make qualified evaluation services more accessible to lower-income families.

Custody evaluations at Beehive Family Services are conducted exclusively by Barbara Ramos-Cryer, LCSW, MLS. As the sole provider conducting these evaluations, Barbara conducts no more a limited amount of evaluations a year.

A Child-Focused and Impartial Approach

A child custody evaluation provides the court with professional, independent information about a family’s circumstances and the best interests of the child or children involved.

As an evaluator, Barbara does not advocate for either parent. Her role is to conduct a balanced and respectful assessment, consider relevant information, and provide professional findings or recommendations within the scope of the evaluation.

Every family is treated with dignity, cultural sensitivity, and an understanding that financial hardship does not make a family less deserving of a careful evaluation.

Making Evaluations More Affordable

Beehive Family Services focuses its custody-evaluation practice on families who may be unable to afford customary private evaluation fees.

Reduced-fee services may be available for families who:

• Have limited household income

• Receive public assistance or qualify for other income-based programs

• Have been referred or appointed by a court

• Are experiencing significant financial hardship

• Cannot reasonably afford a standard private custody evaluation

Eligibility is determined through a confidential financial screening and is based on household income plus any financial support family could provide. Documentation of income or financial circumstances is required.
